Melbourne Fashion Week 2025
Created for the Paypal Event Gallery Melbourne Fashion Week 2025, I was commissioned to design a suite of large-scale visuals for two major runway events — Men’s Wear and Block Party — held at the Royal Exhibition Building. Working closely with sound designers and featured fashion labels, I developed audio-reactive animations that spanned the venue’s LED walls, shaping the visual rhythm of each show. In total, I collaborated with 21 designers, each with distinct palettes, concepts, and emotional tones.
The challenge was to create a cohesive visual system that could support all of these voices without overwhelming any of them. I responded to each designer’s intent by studying their concept statements, moodboards, and references, mapping shared emotional rhythms -tension, softness, fragmentation, flow -into a flexible visual structure. These sequences served to bridge thematic transitions between collections, subtly guiding the audience’s attention while maintaining focus on the garments.
The visuals were designed to run in real time and adapt to the soundtrack, adjusting dynamically to match the tone of each collection. One show emphasized high-contrast movement, while the other leaned into gradients and layered softness. I collaborated closely with the technical team to refine projection flow across the three-screen setup, ensuring the work enhanced each designer’s story without dominating the space.
